Evaluated and redesigned a tool to help LGBTQ asylum seekers feel safe and supported during the unstable asylum-seeking process.
Role
UX Developer
Major Contributions
User Research
I collected and analyzed data about the experience of seeking asylum in the United States, and the efficacy of the original tool. This research highlighted that purpose of the tool was not clear and the interface was confusing.
Design
I worked with a UI designer to redesign the tool based on the data, iteratively improving the design based on user research I conducted with interactive prototypes.
Outcome
After redesigning the tool, we received feedback that it was now “Very simple and easy to use”.
